How is bamboo harvested?
Bamboo grows well in areas with full sunlight and loose soil. The harvest time of the bamboo is crucial for its quality. The best time is the end of the rainy season and the beginning of the dry season, because the sugar content in the plant is then perfect to avoid attacks by parasites
Bamboo has the best quality when it is between 4 and 7 years old. Before this time, the plant is too weak and may collapse.
When harvesting, cut the bamboo just above the first or second node above the ground with a machete.
